Link Building COVID-19

Essential links for COVID-19 Information

Being correctly informed about the response to COVID-19 is essential for every business and individual. This information changes regularly, though, with rolling updates from official government bodies as well as from Prime Minister Scott Morrison himself.

Unfortunately, there is also a lot of misinformation out there as well. False claims and speculation have been sweeping social media channels which can make it hard to know what is real and what is not.

SPresponse has collated the official links that you should bookmark in your browser so that you are only consuming accurate information.

Official government media releases
The Federal Government has rolling press releases with breaking information and news on the pandemic, its response and measures you should take to combat the spread available at its Department of Health website.

What to do if your employment has been impacted
Centrelink has been struggling to cope with the large volumes of Australians put out of work by the closure of businesses and industries in response to COVID-19.

Support is being made available, including faster access to Jobseeker payments and other support payments. This rate will also be doubled from April 27 to better support those that are out of work.

The MyGov and Centrelink websites have struggled to cope with the large volumes of enquiries and applications, phone lines have extraordinary long waits and lines are snaking down the street at physical branches.

More staff are being put on to ease this burden, but in the meantime, it is recommended that you visit the Australian Government Services Australia page for all of the information you need to prepare your application for support.

Travel information
The Australian Government has travel restrictions set to the highest level which means no international travel is allowed at present.

There are also restrictions in place for returning Australians from other countries that need to be heeded as well.

For all international travel updates head to the Federal Government’s Smart Traveller website, which has rolling updates and will advise when these restrictions will be lifted.

For domestic travel, all Australians are being advised to avoid any interstate trips that are not completely essential.

Further advice on domestic travel is available at the Department of Health site.
